Where things are going to get confusing is how much time passes. In the books, more than three years have passed since the start and the end of A Dance with Dragons.

In the TV show more than a year passed between the start of the series and Renly's meeting with Catelyn (from which point all the ages and year references in the show have gone up by one year). However, only a few months perhaps have passed since then: Sansa is still only 14 and people are still using the 17 or 18 year reference for Robert's Rebellion. Jaime says he was a prisoner for a year, but he may have been rounding up generously. So in the TV show only about 18 months or so seem to have passed in the first three seasons, despite Bran shooting up in height.
