  • We last saw them atop the Wall, and then the zombified Viserion destroyed it with a blast of flame. But we never explicitly saw them fall.

Did they stand on a section of Wall that Viserion didn't destroy, or were they killed when the Wall collapsed? Or is it meant to be unknown until the next season?

    • Given how high up they were and the fact that they were right where the wall came down i don't consider their chance of survival very good.

Nevertheless it would be a good idea imo to wait until the final season for confirmation of whether or not they are dead (Hopefully).

Gonna be one hell of a wait :D

    • Considering how popular they both are (Tormund especially) I can't see them being killed off-screen like that.

    • G.R.R.M. has warned us to not assume that anybody is dead without seeing a body.  (And, if there's a Red Priest around, death isn't a dealbreaker.)

If Sandor can survive his wounds from Brienne, and Arya can survive her wounds from the waif, and Jaime, Bronn and Jon can survive falling into deep water while wearing heavy garments and armor, Tormund and Beric can survive riding an ice avalanche down to ground level.

The Lord of Light didn't keep bringing Beric back just to let him die under a mountain of ice.

      Has anybody seen Gendry?

Is there a reputable source for that?

I'm going to have to search for that.  I recall reading it as part of an interview transcript, or a panel discussion at some convention.

    • Only a small section of the wall was destroyed by the ice dragon, so they could have easily gotten to a part of the wall that didn't collapse.   I think they're still alive.

    • I don't actually care one way or another if Beric made it or not. I kinda like him, but wouldn't be too upset if he died. But Tormund though, I'd be so pissed. He's like one of the only two or three left of the characters I count as my favorites in the show that isn't dead.

I mean, I hope they're both alive, but if one of them has to die, I'd rather it be Beric than Tormund.

    • This is GoT. But then again, considering there has been so much of fan service this season, they may be alive

    • It's possible. That wall came down pretty fast.

    • The new trailer confirms that they are both alive.
