Tessarion, called the Blue Queen, is a dragon belonging to House Targaryen. She is ridden by Prince Daeron Targaryen. She has only recently been able to take flight carrying her dragonrider.

Biography

Background

Tessarion hatched around the same time as Vermax during the reign of Viserys I Targaryen and bonded with Daeron before living in Oldtown with him. She has cobalt blue scales and copper-colored wings and frills.

House of the Dragon: Season 2

At a meeting of the Green Council, Lord Jasper Wylde counsels King Aegon II to unleash Daeron and his dragon Tessarion, who will soon be of fighting age, from Oldtown, in order to bring the Riverlands to heel.

In another Green Council meeting, Lord Jasper Wylde informs Prince Aemond that Tessarion and Daeron have taken flight to their cause, before the council is interrupted by the sudden appearance of Silverwing and Ulf.

Tessarion and Daeron soar above the Hightower army as they march to war.

In the books

In Fire & Blood, Tessarion was known as the Blue Queen for her dark cobalt color. She also had copper claws, crest, and belly scales, and cobalt flames. She had bonded with Prince Daeron by 120 AC.

By 129 AC, Tessarion was of fighting size and by 130 AC, Tessarion was one-third in size to Vermithor. A young dragon at the time, Tessarion was nimble in the air.
