"My dragon is dead"[]

Putting this here before it becomes a point of contention or a future edit war: In the last episode, Aegon claims that Sunfyre died. This is a pretty big deviation from the source material but also for established canon in the show universe. Should we treat this as Aegon simply thinking Sunfyre is dead rather than a clear confirmation that he is? LordOfTheNeverThere (talk) 08:20, 5 August 2024 (UTC)

They're clearly setting up Sunfyre's return as a big surprise for non book readers by saying he's dead, so as a spoiler-free wiki perhaps we should follow suit. But then again Joffrey sort of spoiled it already... I'm fine with whichever choice. — (talk) 08:30, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
I'm not opposed to listing him as deceased from what the show has presented, as it appears that their intention is to have the audience think Sunfyre is dead before his eventual (and inevitable) return. I do understand if others have qualms about this. — Darth Dracarys (talk) 08:31, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
What did the wiki do when Sandor Clegane had a fakeout death? Perhaps there's some precedent to draw from. Though I don't remember if anyone in the show said he died; they did in the books at least. — (talk) 08:35, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
Back then the character infobox still had the 'Status' field and he was listed as 'Uncertain', but the wiki doesn't use those anymore. LordOfTheNeverThere (talk) 08:39, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
I agree we should follow the show's lead and treat him as deceased until shown otherwise. - 08:42, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
