Can we just rename this "Many-faced God"? The term doesn't appear on screen, but we know it's what he's referring to.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 20:40, February 8, 2013 (UTC)

I think we should wait... Or else we should move "Lord of Light" of "R'hllor" and "The Prince That Was Promised" to "Azor Ahai".--Gonzalo84 (talk) 21:47, February 8, 2013 (UTC)

"Red God" vs "God of Death"[]

When Jaqen says that Arya "owes three lives to the Red God", as a Faceless Man we know he meant the Many-Faced God of Death. The problem is that as a syncretic religion, Jaqen may just consider the "Lord of Light" aka the Red God to be a different aspect of the "God of Death". This is one of those things we need to ask writers to clear up in a Q&A. This mismatched reference to Death as "the Red God" by Jaqen is why we haven't been eager to update this article more thoroughly, as Jaqen is the only major believer in it that we've encountered so far.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 21:50, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Perhaps the mention of "the Red God" means that Jaqen (re: the "cover identity") believes in the Red God.--Gonzalo84 (talk) 03:17, March 19, 2014 (UTC)
That doesn't fit; this is one of the questions I have in the Cargo Cult.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 14:58, March 19, 2014 (UTC)

Why the Lord of Light and not the Great Other?[]

If the Many-Faced God is death itself and shows itself as other gods of death in other religions, as the article says, then why does the Many-Faced god represent the Lord of Light, whereas the Great Other is the god of darkness and death in that religion?

Maybe it's a misinterpretation, and that R'hllor has dominion over death, whereas the Great Other has dominion over the dead -- a possible explanation for there seemingly being no afterlife; the Great Other has created a void, against the wishes of R'hllor. --ProtectorOfTheSevenKingdoms (talk) 16:08, February 19, 2019 (UTC)
