Aemond speaking Valyrian[]
David Peterson (who constructed the Valyrian language) possibly talking about Aemond:
- "There was a lot more dialogue than I was expecting, which I was very pleased by. And a lot of very well-written dialogue, which I was also pleased by. It really challenged me as a translator. That is something I was dealing with in House of the Dragon because there is one character who, as he is speaking these lines of English, he speaks in a very different way from the other people he is talking to. Not necessarily less formal, but perhaps more flippant. I really wanted to be able to capture that in the Valyrian."

Why assume that's Aemond and not his uncle Daemon? Daemon is flippant.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 18:45, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- I imagined Daemon as more cold and sarcastic at times, but not necessarily flippant. Sort of like Matt's portrayal of Prince Philip. Also the host of the interview specifically avoided mentioning which character this was (he knew), suggesting that people aren't supposed to know about this character yet. --Potsk (talk) 22:14, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
Age[]
According to @darksvster on Twitter, Aegon II ages 13 years in a 10 year time jump and 4 years in a 6 year one, Helaena is 14 in episode 6 despite being born only 11 years before and is the same age as Aegon by episode 8, and Aemond is (somehow) 18 in episode 8. The ages for the rest of the characters check out, (Rhaena has apparently not yet turned 14 by episode 8, but she will by the end of 132 AC as she is 8 in episode 6) and it is only these three that are causing strife. The discrepancies in Aegon and Helaena's ages can be disregarded evidently via the finalised episodes themselves, but I was keen on confirming Aemond's age within the TV canon. I'm hoping for some more clarity in Season 2. — Darth Dracarys (talk) 23:47, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
- What bugs me about this is that Aegon's wrong age made it into dialogue, when he said Viserys had "20 years" to name him heir. Even more weird timeline stuff is coming up in season 2 with aged-up Jaehaerys and Jaehaera. I don't know about Aegon the Younger but I'm assuming he's aged up as well due to the rumored inclusion of Stormcloud and his visit to the Eyrie with Rhaena. —
