Your Family tree is wrong. Aegon the 5th is the Mad king's grandfather, not his father.

Bother to read articles before commenting on them: see "Aerys II Targaryen#In the books": "In a minor change from the books, Aerys II is said to be the son of King Aegon V Targaryen, rather than his grandson. His father, Jaehaerys II, appears to have been eliminated from the roll of kings. The reason for this appears to be to simplify the relationship between Maester Aemon - Aegon V's older brother - and the other Targaryens (by making Aemon Daenerys' grand-uncle, rather than great-grand-uncle). Aegon the Unlikely[]

Does the show or any of its extras in fact mention Aegon being a fourth son of a fourth son and that being a reason why he's called Aegon the Unlikely? I know that in the books Maekaer's eldest son was Daeron but it appears he was written out entirely on the show just like Jaehaerys II. Unless I'm missing something here, it appears all references to Aegon being referred to as Aegon the Unlikely should be moved to the "In the Books" section. Not yet, actually.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 18:30, February 20, 2016 (UTC)
I'm just wondering if for the sake of clarity the intro should say he was called Aegon the Unlikely because he was the fourth son of a fourth son in the books whereas the show so far has Maekar having three sons, not four. Shaneymike (talk) 19:11, February 20, 2016 (UTC)
It was cheating a little bit supplementing with book info like that, but they haven't contradicted it yet either. Eh, I abstain.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 19:36, February 20, 2016 (UTC)
I'll wait and see if anyone else agrees before I change anything. If the writers do at some point officially mention Daeron, son of Maekar, we can always change it back. But again I'll wait and see if anyone else agrees before I do anything with the intro on this page. Shaneymike (talk) 20:26, February 20, 2016 (UTC)

Confusing lineage[]

It says he's the fourth son while the article on Maekar and the family tree graphic below only lists the three. Looking at the talk page I see that it's a divergence from the book and show but I think it'd be better if the pages were more consistent with each other. I get both are valid but if you're operating on the information as presented it looks like an error. Roflcopteraway (talk) 03:52, July 19, 2017 (UTC)

The missing son is Rhaegal Targaryen, and he hasn't appeared in any official show-related sources yet, which is why he is not listed here. - Xanderen signature 07:23, July 19, 2017 (UTC)

Spoilers[]

So, casting has been announced and filming is fast approaching. Should we start removing spoilers now as we did with HOTD articles? I imagine a lot of people without much knowledge of the lore are searching "Egg" and are immediately greeted with "tried to hatch stone dragon eggs with sorcery and burned to death" —Potsk signature (talk) 17:31, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

I think now is an appropriate time to scale back some of the AKOTSK pages. — Darth Dracarys (talk) 00:09, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
