Rosabell Laurenti Sellers (born March 27 1996) is an Italian-American actress. She is best known for appearing in the film The Whistleblower alongside Rachel Weisz and Liam Cunningham and as the titular character in the children's series, Mia and Me..
In Game of Thrones she plays the part of Tyene Sand in the fifth, sixth, and seventh seasons.
She was born in California but grew up in New York City, where she started acting when she was eight years old in 2004. Later that same year she moved to Italy with her family, where she worked on several Italian film and television projects for the next ten years until she was cast in Game of Thrones.
On Game of Thrones
Rosabell had not read any of the books or watched the TV show of Game of Thrones before she was cast - unlike Keisha Castle-Hughes (Obara Sand) who had read the books before the TV series started, and Jessica Henwick (Nymeria Sand), who watched the TV series and read through the first two books by Season 5.[1]
Sellers was living in Rome when she auditioned on tape for the role of Tyene. As she said, "A few weeks later, I was in London for drama school auditions, and it happened to be when [executive producers] David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] were there, so [casting director] Nina Gold organized a second audition with them, and it went well."[2]
She is now attending the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.[3]
