Maynard Royce was the Lord of Runestone and head of House Royce. He is the grandfather of Yohn Royce.
Biography[]
Maynard Royce was the firstborn son of Lord Robar Royce and inherited Runestone upon his father's death. He had green eyes and flaxen hair. When he was eighteenth, he married Lady Mavis Belmore, who bore him two sons: Andar and Paxter, and two daughters: Junia and Serena. He died at the age of 38 of a fever, Runestone being inherited by his eldest son, Andar.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Maynard Royce is mentioned in the section on House Royce in the Season 1 prop for The Lineages and Histories of the Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms. The section on House Royce never appears on-screen in the TV series, as its planned appearance, where Eddard Stark would have read from it, was cut.
In the books[]
Maynard Royce is referenced only in the TV adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire and has no corresponding counterpart in the books.
