The kingdom of the Isles and the Rivers was an independent kingdom of Westeros before Aegon's Conquest. Under Harren Hoare, its capital was Harrenhal.[1]
It was founded three generations before Aegon's Conquest, when the kingdom of the Iron Islands under House Hoare conquered all of the Riverlands from the rule of the kingdom of the Stormlands, led by House Durrandon.
The kingdom ceased to exist after the Targaryen conquest by Aegon I. House Hoare itself was destroyed by dragon-fire at the Burning of Harrenhal, and the Riverlands rose up against the remaining Ironborn in a revolt led by Edmyn Tully.

Notes[]
- ↑ In "Valyria & the Dragons," Viserys Targaryen states that Aegon began his conquest 100 years after the Doom of Valyria in 102 BC, placing it in 2 BC. In "Aegon, First of His Name," Viserys Targaryen states that the maesters divided history into Before and After Conquest following Aegon I Targaryen's coronation in Oldtown; therefore, Aegon's Conquest began in 2 BC and ended in 1 AC.
