Jeremy Podeswa (born 1962) is a Canadian Emmy winning director of film and television. His most notable film credits are The Five Senses and Fugitive Pieces. For television he has directed episodes of Queer as Folk, The Tudors, Nip/Tuck, The L Word, Camelot, The Borgias and Rubicon. Has a particularly notable association with HBO, directing episodes of Six Feet Under, Carnivàle, Rome, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood and three episodes of The Pacific.

His father is a painter and is the only member of his immediate family to have made it out of a Nazi camp.

For Game of Thrones, Podeswa was initially announced as having been hired as a director for Season 2, but later lists did not show him as working on the series. When HBO confirmed the line-up of directors for the show, Podeswa was not present. It was later revealed that the original director for the episode "Blackwater" had pulled out of the production and Neil Marshall was brought in as a replacement[1]. It has been speculated that Podeswa may have been the original director for that episode, but not confirmed.

On July 15, 2014, it was announced that Podeswa would be directing two episodes in the fifth season, the fifth and sixth episodes.[2] On June 12, 2015, it was revealed he would be back to direct for the sixth season[3], the first and the second episodes.[4] On June 29, 2016, it was reported that he is slated to direct in the seventh season.[5]
