- "House Tully is a fish with no head."
- ―Daemon Targaryen
House Tully[2] of Riverrun is one of the Great Houses of Westeros. They were granted dominion over the lands surrounding the Trident river by the Targaryens when they conquered the Seven Kingdoms, and have ruled the Riverlands since.
History[]
Background[]
House Tully rose to prominence during Aegon's Conquest. Lord Edmyn Tully rebelled against the King of the Iron Islands, Harren the Black, to support the invading House Targaryen. Edmyn's fellow riverlords followed his lead. When Aegon Targaryen established his rule from the Iron Throne, he rewarded Edmyn by elevating the Tullys to Lords Paramount of the Trident.
House of the Dragon: Season 1[]
A member of House Tully travels to King's Landing to participate in the Heir's Tournament.[3]
The Small Council discusses a land dispute in the Riverlands between House Blackwood and House Bracken, as the ailing Lord Grover is unable to handle the issue, his son now ruling Riverrun in all but name.[4]
At the Green Council, Ser Otto Hightower refers to Riverrun as one of their allies, and commands ravens be sent to them.[5] At the Black Council, Maester Gerardys also sends ravens to Lord Grover Tully, while Prince Daemon Targaryen announces his intentions to personally treat with him.[6]
House of the Dragon: Season 2[]
At the beginning stages of the Dance of the Dragons, House Tully remains undeclared and has not sided with the Blacks or the Greens.[7]
