House Baratheon[1] of Storm's End is a Great House of Westeros that traditionally rules the Stormlands on the eastern coast of Westeros, aptly named for its frequent storms.
History[]
House Baratheon was founded by Orys Baratheon, a general in the army of King Aegon I Targaryen, the founder of the Targaryen dynasty who conquered the Seven Kingdoms. Orys Baratheon was also rumored to be Aegon's bastard half-brother. He defeated Argilac the Arrogant, the last of the Storm Kings, and captured his castle of Storm's End. For his accomplishments, Orys was made Lord of Storm's End and founded House Baratheon. Orys took the sigil and words of the defeated House Durrandon as his own, cementing his rule over the Stormlands by marrying Argella Durrandon, the daughter of the fallen Argilac.
House of the Dragon: Season 1[]
The mother of Princess Rhaenys Targaryen was Jocelyn Baratheon,[2] who had passed away by 112 AC.[b]
Lord Boremund and his son Borros compete in the Heir's Tournament, where Boremund asks for the favor of Princess Rhaenys. Boremund and Borros are both unhorsed by Ser Criston Cole in the jousting competition.[3]
Lord Boremund begrudgingly kneels and swears an oath to Rhaenyra Targaryen, to recognize her as heir.[3]
Lord Boremund hosts Princess Rhaenyra at Storm's End on her tour of the realm to find a suitor.[4]
At the Green Council, the now Lord Borros is believed to be persuadable to the cause of Greens through arranging marriages with his daughters.[5]
At the Black Council, Rhaenyra Targaryen expects to sway Lord Borros to the Blacks due to their blood ties through Rhaenys Targaryen, sending her son Lucerys Velaryon to Storm's End. Lucerys fails in his mission as Prince Aemond Targaryen arrives earlier and promises to wed Floris Baratheon.[6]
House of the Dragon: Season 2[]
In the Dance of the Dragons, House Baratheon fights for King Aegon II Targaryen as Floris Baratheon's marriage pact to Prince Aemond Targaryen brings the Stormlands to the side of the Greens.[7]

Notes[]
- ↑ In "Valyria & the Dragons," Viserys Targaryen states that Aegon began his conquest 100 years after the Doom of Valyria in 102 BC, placing it in 2 BC. In "Aegon, First of His Name," Viserys Targaryen states that the maesters divided history into Before and After Conquest following Aegon I Targaryen's coronation in Oldtown; therefore, Aegon's Conquest began in 2 BC and ended in 1 AC.
- ↑ House of the Dragon starts in the year 112 AC according to the reference book Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon: Inside the Creation of a Targaryen Dynasty.
