Great Moraq,[1] also known simply as Moraq,[2] is an island between the Summer Sea and the Jade Sea, directly south of Qarth.[1] The city of Port Moraq lies on its southern coast.[1] Corlys Velaryon passed by Great Moraq on at least two of his nine voyages.[2]
In the books[]
In The Lands of Ice and Fire, Great Moraq is the largest island in the known world. It is home to the city of Faros in the north, and Port Moraq in the south. The island was once conquered by Jar Joq, the seventh sea-green emperor of Yi Ti.
