- Jaime Lannister: "Is that Estermont?"
- Merchant ship's captain: "Tarth, Ser Jaime. The Sapphire Isle."
- — Jaime and the captain[src]
Estermont[1] is a mountainous island in the Narrow Sea and part of the Stormlands. The island is sworn to Storm's End and ruled by House Estermont.
History[]
Background[]
Robert, Stannis and Renly Baratheon's mother Cassana was raised on Estermont.[citation needed]
Game of Thrones: Season 5[]
While traveling to Dorne, Jaime asks if the island they are sailing past is Estermont, but the ship's captain informs him it is Tarth.[1]
In the books[]
In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Jaime has previously visited Estermont. Robert's maternal uncles came for his and Cersei's wedding and stayed for six months, and Robert insisted on returning the courtesy with a two-week visit to Estermont. Jaime followed Robert one night, confirming Cersei's suspicions that Robert was having sex with his widowed cousin. Jaime asked Cersei if she wanted Robert dead, but instead Jaime and Cersei have sex, beginning their long secret incestuous extramarital affair. Cersei likes to believe that her son Joffrey was conceived that same night.
