Edward George "Ed" Skrein (born 29 March 1983) is a British actor and musician from London, United Kingdom. In his music career he has worked with Asian Dub Foundation and Plan B. He has recently transitioned into acting, appearing in Plan B's movie Ill Manors.

In Game of Thrones Skrein played the role of Daario Naharis in the third season. He was announced in the role on August 20, 2012.[1]

Skrein was in a gang until he was 17 years old, when he was stabbed and nearly died, after which he quit it altogether.[2]

He did not return for the fourth season. Instead, Dutch actor Michiel Huisman took over the role of Daario.[3]

Neither Skrein nor HBO has revealed the reason he left Game of Thrones, but fans have speculated that it was because he has been cast as the lead role in a reboot of the Transporter action film franchise,[4] the filming of which would clash with Game of Thrones's rigorous shooting schedule. In a 2015 interview, however, Skrein debunked this, saying that "politics" prevented him from returning for Season 4.[5]
