Diamond Cave

The Diamond Cave^[1] is a cave in the Dornish Marches.

History[]

During the reign of Aerys II Targaryen, a band of outlaws known as the Bandit Lords of the Marches kidnapped Lord and Lady Dondarrion and held them in the Diamond Cave. Ser Gwayne Gaunt^[a] then killed the outlaws and rescued the Dondarrions.

Brienne, now Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, flicks through the Book of Brothers and briefly comes across Arthur Dayne's^[a] entry, in which the Diamond Cave is mentioned.^[1]

In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, this cave is not mentioned.

↑ ^1.0 ^1.1 The paragraph mentioning this event is erroneously placed in Arthur Dayne's entry. The opening sentence calling him the "thirdborn son to Lord Symon of House Gaunt" makes it apparent that this paragraph was meant for Gwayne Gaunt's entry.
