Defender of the Vale,[1] informally Lord of all the Vale[2] and Lord of the Vale,[3] and also referred to as Lord Paramount of the Vale,[4] is the title held by the Great House of the Vale of Arryn under the authority of the King of the Andals and the First Men. Traditionally, this is the patriarch of House Arryn.
