I'm ok with the open ending. I'm pissed at all the gaps leading up to it. I think if they had filled on the story leading to a cliffhanger I wouldn't mind using my imagination to guess what would happen after. But sadly they left gaps so big we don't have enough of a story to use our imagination on.
Im actually fed up with leaving the viewer to answer the question in their head. Again there is the obvious one of what will happen next, as long as characters are there which there were, you cannot fault the writers for that, so that I will defend them on. But to just leave that up to the viewers of what they think is west of westeros and give us that shitty prequel instead is just a slap in the face, poke in the eyes and kick in the genitals. If I just used my imagination, then there would be no point in watching game of thrones or any story, the whole point of watching stories is to suspend your imagination and let the writers do it for you.
Also please dont think I am just picking on game of thrones, there is a ton of shows and movies Ive seen that leave unanswered questions even after the finale
Cause if people are going to say its because they didnt have enough time, that is BS, they had more than enough time if they hadnt introduced a billion freaking characters and put nearly all of them in pointless relationship/sex scenes that led to nothing.
I don't think you are picking on them. I'm quite upset with the writers in s8. Like you said the characters were there, but not in any timeline that made sense. There were huge plot holes. One of the biggest things that annoyed me, well 2 things, is that Edmure Tully just shows up at the very end of the show after not even being mentioned for 3 seasons. And 2, the focus on Arya while KL was burning and then her story was nothing. She barely spoke in the last episode. So why focus on her at all? Why have a dramatic ending with the horse if her surviving didn't really matter for the story?
I will be fair in that maybe the network rushed them to complete the 6 episodes but then they clearly were morons cause they knew ahead of time of a 2 year hiatus, they had plenty of time
I didnt get a big sense of plot holes to be honest, yeah sure I guess some of the fights were unrealistic in a sense, but other than that, Im not frustrated at the plot errors the show left us with, I dont get the vibe of that many
Well I wont bore you with all my complaints. I'll accept your position as a valid one.
ok cool
I'd prefer a rewrite of Season 8.
