This one:
Her "psychotic disorder" didn't kick in. It was always freaking there!!! She just hid it better. In season 8 her "brain" didn't "break" she gave in to who she has always been. She grew into herself- psychosis and all. She was a murderess underneath the entire time. You pro Dany people got fooled by her acts of kindness like she was trying to cover her real thoughts by doing acts of kindness. I'm not talking about freeing slaves. She wanted them free- but not to be kind but so that she could rule them and gain their love and use them as a free army. Her last speech she was very clear about wanting to rule the world. All the sympathy you saw in her eyes, all of it was her keeping her true self at bay by being someone she THINKS she should be, not someone she IS.
It sounds like you knew a toxic, abusive, duplicitous, downright horrible person in real life whom Daenerys reminds you of. Good art makes us project our own reality into fictional characters, but it doesn't mean your interpretation of Daenerys is the definitive one or that those of us who saw her differently were "fooled".
It was Emilia Clarke's job as an actress to understand her character's internal state better than any of us. As her interviews during and after the show make it clear, she understood Daenerys to have been genuine in her desire to make the world better and to avoid becoming her father, but to have lost her battle with genetics after a long series of traumatic events wore her down.
Nope. I just wasn't blind. "Make the world better" by ruling it after she's killed everyone who doesn't agree with her. That was how she was going to accomplish it. Hell, it's the ONLY way to accomplish such a lofty goal. What is best for some isn't necessarily what is best for all yet she saw her way as THE way and the ONLY way but hey, who cares if that's not best for everyone in the entire world. We'll just kill them and rule with fear and tyranny. AND stay on TOP on the wheel.
And what I said about her freeing the Unsullied is absolutely true. Her first objective was that she needed and army. Hmmm..how to get one? Oh! Free them, win their love and you have free labor. You're not looking behind the inner workings of a psychotic mind. Of course she couldn't couldn't show her "crazy" or no one would follow her. But it kept popping out no matter how hard she tried.
Even Jesus Christ was given a trial but Dany just kills with no trials and this is supposed to be a more advanced aged than Christ's.
And, Dany was only ever a "savior" because it advanced her only interest, the Iron Throne. If she'd have had the resources from the get go, she would have gone straight for the throne. She was ALWAYS complaining about how long it was taking, and she had to be talked out of atrocities all the time. The fact that she cared for the people who were loyal to her, doesn't mean she wasn't always only after one thing, and she would do anything to take it. She never transitioned, from savior to murderer, she was ALWAYS a murderer. As to Cersei, I saw her death as a metaphorical crashing down on her of her hubris and terrible decisions. Being crushed alive is no picnic, and wanting something worse is a Dany kind of wish. Yikes.
^^^Agreed. If she had the tools she needed from the get go we would have only seen the murderer.
Go back and watch the earlier seasons. And more importantly, listen to interviews with Emilia Clarke. As an actress, it was her job to understand, better than any of us, what made her character tick. If her character had a motive, then even if that motive was supposed to be hidden from the viewers and other characters, the actress had to know what that motive was.
So if Dany was secretly running a Machiavellian con job for 8 whole seasons, and only pretending to liberate enslaved people so she could exploit their free labor, then why wasn't Emilia Clarke made aware of that? Heck, why did D&D describe her as one of the most empathetic characters in the show? Why did they describe her as something of a "Joan of Arc"?
Test
She was supposed to ACT like Joan of Arc. Emilia had no idea where her character was going or how crazy she was underneath otherwise she may have been tempted to portray the crazy side too much when her character was supposed to be hiding it. She (Emilia) had no idea she was liberating an army for conquering the world and FOR FREE but that is VERY OBVIOUS. D&D have also said she's (Dany) been revealing herself to be this way (crazy/mad) since the beginning.I really feel sorry for parents who named their daughters Daenerys.
Joan of Arc may have also been crazy, since she claimed to hear the voice of God.
She also claimed to have visions of the angel Michael and various saints. She didn't really do much and as burned at the stake at age 19.
