<p>In the books he has a green eye and black eye and pale blonde hair. Targaryens have violet eyes and silver hair (hot the shit color they have in the show). Look in A World of Ice and Fire. It's beautifully illustrated. Show's the perfect shade for Targaryen hair.</p>

<p>Ok the Battle of the Blackwater when he splits his face he actually gets his nose cut off. In the show Cersei makes reference to this by saying something like I heard you got your nose cut off but it isn't as bad as all that is it?</p>
